Mandated Reporter Referrals

The State Child Abuse/Neglect law mandates certain professions (mandated reporters), to make a report to the state CPS when they have reasonable cause to suspect that a child has been or may be subjected to abuse of neglect.

However, many times the mandated reporter may not suspect abuse or neglect but has some other concern about a family which does not rise to the level of a CA/N report.

These calls are Mandated Reporter Referrals.

Please DO NOT assume the CPS staff know of any REAL community supports available for families.  More than likely, your call will be converted into a Hotline report and the family will be routinely DESTROYED by a CPS "investigation" when no basis existed for CPS to become involved with the family.

If you really want to help the family make community support connections, seek a local church that is active in HELPING FAMILIES grow stronger together.

Or contact American Family Rights Association.  We will quickly put people WHO REALLY CARE about families and children in contact with the family to help BEFORE the family becomes ensnared in the hopeless meat grinder of CPS.
