WASHINGTON, Dec. 16 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The nation's health care and social assistance sector registered an 8 percent increase in revenues last year for a total of $1.2 trillion, up from $1.1 trillion in 2001, the U.S. Census Bureau said today.
Health care and social assistance (both employer and nonemployer firms) include hospitals, physicians' offices, child and youth services, and services for the elderly and persons with disabilities.
